PASADENA SISTER CITIES STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM

This student exchange program offers a special opportunity for college students, ages 18 to 24, to participate in summer exchanges with Xicheng District, Pasadena's sister city in Beijing, China. Applicants must be full-time college students. They should be enrolled in a college in the Pasadena Community College district, or they (or their parents) should be residents of that district. They must be able to demonstrate basic fluency in Mandarin Chinese language.

Most exchanges will be 4 to 6 weeks in length. There may be possibilities for internship experiences during the visit. The hosting city provides accommodations with host families and opportunities to visit local attractions. Students must pay transportation and miscellaneous personal expenses.

Beijing is a city of great cultural and historic interest. Xicheng (West
City) is in the center of Beijing, just west of the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. It is well known as a commercial, cultural, financial, historical and political district of Beijing, blending the old with the new.
